Lincoln is being promoted to BIG BROTHER!! 🎉

I've been a little MIA on social media lately due to suffering with Hyperemesis Gravidarum which is severe nausea and vomiting in pregnancy much much worse than just traditional morning sickness & typically does not subside during the duration of pregnancy.

With that being said there are medications that can help ease the symptoms so that I can stay hydrated and such. Which I have finally gotten the correct dosage of and will hopefully start feeling better soon!

So far I've been able to power through my days with the understanding from my lovely clients that I just don't feel my best- but I will ALWAYS do my best.

3. WAX: provide a thorough waxing service, in convenient timing, using only the highest quality wax.

4. CLEANSE: second cleanse to wipe away any leftover powder, wax, or extractions

5. TREAT: Provide post treatment with Fur products. Every service is complete with the fur oil.

6. TEACH: Educate each client on before/after care. Recommend their perfect individual routine.

WAXING 101
02. How to pick up a large amount of wax

If you watched my video on how to create a large wax strip asked "how do I pick up that much was to begin with?" This video is for you!

It sounds self explanatory right? Just pick up more wax- It's always easier said than done. So here's a few things to master before you get into it:

1. Consistency: the consistency of your wax is so so important and will be something you have to adjust and change MULTIPLE times throughout your day of waxing. When creating large strips you wants your consistency to be thicker. You don't want the wax to fall from the stick as soon as you pick it up. The wax in your pot should be thick like brownie batter when stirring. when you pick up the wax on your stick and you are not twirling the wax should take a couple seconds before it falls from the stick.

If the wax falls from your stick right away- it's TOO HOT. This is the most common mistake when working with hard wax for the first time often times it's too hot.

2. Stick twirling: it seems so basic but being able to twirl your stick quickly and without any thought will tremendously help you. Practice with a small ball of wax on your stick- walk around twirling your stick and don't drop the wax. Try talking to people around you while doing this as well to make it harder.

Once you're comfortable with your consistency and twirling your stick try to grab a large amount of wax and lay a large strip!

When laying your strip, deposit all of the wax off of the stick onto the skin. Work from right to left if you're right handed or left to right if you're left handed. (Refer to previous video on laying a large strip.)

Let's break it down.

What is histamine?
• Histamine is a chemical found in our white blood cells. Hair being removed at the root level is considered a "stressor" for the body, & the skin will sometimes respond with a histamine reaction (our body's defense mechanism).

Our body is responding NORMALLY to the actual removal of the hair on your skin and NOT from the wax product itself. It could happen right away, or it could happen a few hours after a wax.

🚨 Don't be alarmed, your body is doing what it's supposed to! Avoid products with fragrance, hot showers, and use your FUR oil to soothe the area as needed. It should subside within 24-48hrs.

Will anything help?
• YES! This makes you a great candidate for our $8 add on hydrojelly mask. It applies COLD 🥶& has soothing ingredients such as grape-seed and lavender which tremendously help calm the skin.

*NOTE* while rare, there is a possibility of an allergic reaction to waxing. This is very different than a normal reaction. An allergic reaction will typically progressively get worse and not resolve within 1-2 days. Please seek medical attention if you have any concerns.

WAXING 101
01. Creating long strips with Hard Wax

•What are long/wide strips used for?
🦵Full Leg wax, full back wax, & full arm wax

•My longer strips always crack before pulling off, what am I doing wrong?
Its important to find a wax that's setting time works with the speed you work at. If the wax is a quick setting wax and you're laying a long strip, by the time you finish laying the strip it's most likely already set and going to crack when removed. Higher quality waxes also have more elasticity and shouldn't break on you-so using a high quality wax is also important. If you tend to lay multiple strips and then pull them all try a lay then pull immediately method instead.

TIPS:

1. Consistency matters! If your wax is too hot it will be too runny to pick up a lot of wax on your stick and impossible to create a long strip. Take the extra second to get the perfect consistency to set yourself up for success. If you struggle with this 👀 watch for my post on consistency coming soon!!

2. Lots of pressure: Start with your stick perpendicular to the skin so it creates a 90* angle when you apply pressure it should push the stick down just enough to create a 45* angle with the skin.

"How did you know you what you wanted to do for a living, I struggle knowing what I would enjoy doing"

Some people will agree with the audio. Some people will tell you you'll just know, or to just pick a passion- something you like doing as a hobby and make it an income.

While all that is true, My advice is always to just get exposure. You don't always find what you love on the first try. You literally never know until you try something if you will enjoy doing it. & if it's not for you? Well, that's still another skill under your belt. It's still KNOWLEDGE and knowledge is power. You never now how the two fields may collide one day and make you that much stronger in what you do!

If this is something you struggle with I encourage you to start somewhere.

•Apply for that new job

•Use the service and get the experience of something that you might be interested in from the customer perspective

•Talk with people about what they do and why they do and don't like it. (There's so many positions I never even knew were jobs!)

•WORK BACKWARDS- write down and envision your goals. Then start thinking what type of income do I need to achieve these goals and work towards that.

& most importantly do not be afraid of failure. We don't fail. We adapt.

4. Do it anyway. Who cares what people think? If it's something you want to do, do it!
